BEWARE OF FAKE
AND SELF-APPOINTED
SULTANS OF SULU & SABAH

The Law of Succession states, whether in Sulu and Sabah, in Royal Sultanate of Brunei, Malaysian sultanates and in European kingdoms including Saudi Arabia, and Islamic sultanates in the Middle East, that the son of the Sultan (King) must become Sultan and, in this case, in the Royal House of Sulu & Sabah, only the sons or male heirs of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I must ascend the throne as Sultan. NO ONE ELSE.

Any one claiming to be sultan but not the son or male heir of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I is an impostor and a fake sultan.

The Law also states that the most capable and most suitable among the male heirs of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I, and as proclaimed and recognized by the Royal Datus and the Sharifs, shall be the current Reigning Sultan. HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram I fulfilled totally the Law of Succession and is the current 35th Reigning Sultan.

This Law rejects the claims of Jamalul, Ismail and Aghbimuddin including Rodinood and Kudar Julaspi and other usurpers and fake sultans like them. With this Law the only true and legitimate Sultan is His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram I.

As per LAW OF SUCCESSION of the Royal House of Sulu and Sabah, the throne and crown of the Sultan of Sulu and Sabah have three (3) strict and distinct provisions:

1) The successor must be the most capable and most suitable among the male heirs and direct descendants; i.e., sons or grandsons of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan of Sulu & Sabah 1947 to 1973).

2) The successor must be proclaimed and declared by the Royal Datus and the Sharifs (descendants of Prophet Mohammed) of Sulu and Sabah as the "Reigning Sultan of the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah."

3) The successor must have at least five (5) ancestors who were consecutive Sultans of Sulu and Sabah to qualify as the Reigning Sultan of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo/ Sabah.

Any person who claims to be the Sultan of Sulu and Sabah, but who does not fulfill the provisions of the Law of Succession of the Royal House of Sulu and Sabah, is guilty of deception and must be rejected and disdained.

Listed below are the names of self-proclaimed sultans. As a public service, we warn the unsuspecting public, the various governments and the foreign banks that hold the deposits of the late Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo/ Sabah, not to be fooled and duped by many false sultans and self-appointed sultans who have no rights to claim the rank and title as "Sultan" as they masquerade like clowns being a laughing stock as sultans of Sulu and Sabah.

The public must know there is only one throne and one crown of the Sultan of Sulu and Sabah -- so only one true and legitimate Sultan of Sulu and Sabah.

The motivations of these self-appointed sultans why they proclaimed themselves without any right to the crown and throne of Sulu and Sabah are due to personal vested interest such as:
1) to withdraw the perceived cash and gold assets of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah, and;
2) to be paid by Malaysia to masquerade as sultans to further destabilize the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah, to sow confusion, so that the Sultanate will have difficulty to recover Sabah from the illegal occupation of Malaysia since 1963. Indeed indications pointed out that Malaysia paid many of these self-proclaimed and false sultans. They are false sultans because they did not fulfill the Law of Succession to be Sultan of Sulu and Sabah.

The claims of these self-proclaimed sultans are questionable and fictitious, and their so called "genealogy and family tree" are fantasies and fairy tales designed to impress and mislead the public. Their claims are just pigments of their imagination. Their claims as sultan have no foundation whatsoever.

Their acts and appointments made (such as creation of new royalty or nobility, like datuk or other awards and any authority relating to the asset recovery of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah in foreign banks) whether written or oral are all null and void ab initio and non-binding.

The public must not believe these false sultans that they can withdraw the assets of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah in foreign banks, as they fooled many people who gave them money to recover such assets based on the presented banking coordinates and banking instruments but failed. Many tried it in Citibank, UBS and Westpac and other banks but they were apprehended and ended up in jail. Why?

Because fraud and deception are criminal offenses. Plus prudence and wisdom will dictate that if any asset of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah is to be wihdrawn, the only one who can withdraw them is none other than the true and legitimate Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo/ Sabah. It is easy to recognize the true and legitimate Sultan -- the one who fulfilled the Law of Succession.

Only HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram I fulfilled the Law of Succession as:
1) he is the last son of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I and he was declared the most capable and most suitable among the male heirs;
2) he was proclaimed and declared by the Royal Datus and the Sharifs of the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah as the Reigning Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo/ Sabah; and
3) HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad I has seven (7) consecutive Kiram Sultans as ancestors. From HM Sultan Jamalul Kiram I (Sultan 1823 to 1844) his forefather, plus five other Kiram Sultans then his father H.M. Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947 to 1973), and eight (8) if we include his brother the last true and legitimate Sultan of Sulu and Sabah HM Sultan Mahakuttah Abdulla Kiram (Sultan 1974 to 1986). Thus, HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad I fulfilled these three sacred and strict provisions of the Law of Succession as the lawful and legitimate Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo/ Sabah.

The FALSE and SELF-APPOINTED sultans listed below are not male heirs of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (except one), and were not proclaimed and declared as Reigning Sultan by the Royal Datus and the Sharifs of the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah, and they do not have five (5) ancestors who were consecutive Sultans of Sulu and Sabah, so they have no right to claim the rank and title of Sultan; they are self-appointed and no lawful authority to act as Sultan of Sulu and Sabah.

The acts of these self-appointed sultans are all unlawful and null and void and their appointments made are also unlawful, and null and void. These false sultans have no right to the throne and crown of Sulu and Sabah and must be rejected by the public.

LIST OF IMPOSTORS AND FAKE SULTANS OF SULU & SABAH WHO DID NOT FULFILL THE LAW OF SUCCESSION:

1. MR. MUDARASULAIL KIRAM @ DATU PAIJAL -- Descent unknown. Outsider. Not a member of the Kiram Royal Family. He fabricates himself to be a Kiram. Not a descendant or male heir of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). Not a son of HM Sultan Mahakuttah A. Kiram (Sultan 1974-1986). The claims of this man are pure fiction and fantasy made up by his warped and distorted mind. His claim as a datu is questionable and without foundation. He lives in Sabah and works in the police in a lowly position. His claims as sultan are deliberate manipulations to further confuse and destabilize the Sultanate of Sulu.

2. DATU JAMALUL DALUS KIRAM -- Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. His father Datu Punjungan was never a Sultan so as a son he cannot be a Sultan. Not a descendant or male heir of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). He lost in his candidacy as senator on the 14 May 2007 Philippine general elections.

3. DATU ESMAIL DALUS KIRAM -- Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. His former name was ISMAIL but he changed it to ESMAIL to mislead the public that he is directly related to Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I. His father Datu Punjungan was never a Sultan so as a son he cannot be a Sultan. Not a descendant or male heir of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). He was a candidate in his province of Sulu in the 1992 election as provincial board member but he was rejected by his own constituents as he lost that election. Imagine a so called sultan rejected by his own constituents. For to repeat, Esmail was born ISMAIL but he changed his name to ESMAIL II to show some relation to HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I and to deceive the public but he is not a son of HM Sultan Muhammmad Esmail E. Kiram I but only a HALF-NEPHEW.

4. DATU AGHBIMUDDIN DALUS KIRAM -- Outsider. Not a descendant or male heir of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). His father Datu Punjungan was never a Sultan so as a son he cannot be a Sultan. Jamalul, Esmail and Aghbimuddin are not members of the Royal blood line of succession who are three (3) brothers who also installed themselves sultans of Sulu at the same time. No one in his/her right mind will believe that one family can have three (3) sultans of Sulu and succeed one another while the 3 are still alive at the same time, when no one died or abdicated if they were true royalty and true Sultan of Sulu. These 3 brothers are seen as clowns as they fight each other, with no respect for their own family, that they are treated with derision, disbelief and a laughing stock.

5. RODINOOD JULASPI -- (FABRICATING HIMSELF A KIRAM). Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). He is not from Sulu but an Ilocano from the Ilocos region of the Philippines . The grandfather of Rodinood Julaspi and Kudar Julaspi was Hadjirul, a commoner with no royal blood, who worked as a horse handler in a horse stable. There is no truth to the claims of Rodinood and Kudar and his father they are descendants of Sultan Jamalul Kiram II, as the Sultan was unfortunately impotent, and did not have any male or female offspring. That is why, when HM Sultan Jamalul Kiram II died in 1936 due to poisoning, the crown and throne was inherited by his brother HM Sultan Mawallil Wasit Kiram, but unfortunately he died after six months as Sultan in 1936, as he too was also poisoned -- thus, the son of HM Sultan Mawallil Wasit, HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I became Sultan, but due to the onset of World War II, was only crowned Sultan in 1947 to 1973 (the father of the current Sultan, HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad A. Kiram I).

6. KUDAR JULASPI -- (FABRICATING HIMSELF A KIRAM). Commoner & Outsider. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). Rodinood and Kudar Julaspi do not belong to the Royal blood line of succession who are brothers who proclaimed themselves sultans at the same time, which is an insult to the intelligence of many as no one in his/ her right mind will believe two (2) brothers can succeed each other while they are both alive. Kudar is not from Sulu but an Ilocano from the Ilocos region of the Philippines . Kudar and Rodinood are seen as 2 clowns in the Sultanate of Sulu & Sabah.

7. IBRAHIM PULALUN -- Commoner & Outsider. A market vendor who could barely read and write. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). Pulalun was proclaimed using the money of Stan C. Brandenburg, a tax agent, an American claiming to be the U.S. Ambassador to Sulu and North Borneo/ Sabah, but they had a falling out and Brandenburg instead supported and installed Bahjin afterwards. Scorned Pulalun advertised on Zamboanga City newspapers that he had nothing to do with Brandenburg .

8. DIGNIM PULALUN -- Another unscrupulous usurper and impostor sultan. He is the son of Ibrahim Pulalun who also installed himself sultan without any lawful rights. So now you have Ibrahim and Dignim Pulalun (father and son) clowning and masquerading without rights to be sultan. These father and son are regarded as clowns in the Sultanate along with the other fake sultans listed hereto. Dignim is a Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973).

9. DR. IBRAHIM BAHJIN -- Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). The claim of this man that he is a descendant of Sultan Shakir ul lah (Sultan 1816 to 1823) is also far fetch, a fantasy, a big lie and fraudulent, because the direct male heir of Sultan Shakir ul lah was his son Sultan Jamalul Kiram I (Sultan 1823 to 1844) the great forefather of Sultan Muhammad Fuad A. Kiram I.

As per Brunei and Sulu Royal Family Genealogy these are the true facts: The Kiram Royal Family is the direct descendant of the first Sultan in 1457, that finally descended to Sulu Sultan Mawallil Wasit (Sultan 1600 to 1640), the son of Brunei Sultan Muhammad Hassan, further cementing the blood links of the Royal House of Sulu & Sabah and the Royal House of Brunei as one family. The father of Sultan Jamalul Kiram I was Sulu Sultan Shakir ul lah (Sultan 1816 to 1823), the direct descendant of Sultan Mawallil Wasit.

It was Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram I (Sultan 1823 to 1844, son of Sultan Shakir ul lah) who first used the surname KIRAM, as before him the Sultans of Sulu & Sabah did not use any surname – only their first names.

Thus, in reality the family name KIRAM can be traced back to the year 1600, however, for clarity due to its first usage we equate the Kiram Royal Family to year 1823 to this day. Since 1823 up to now the Royal blood line of HM Sultan Jamalul Kiram I and the blood line of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947 to 1973) are the true blood line and successors of the Sultans of the Royal House of Sulu & Sabah.

Bahjin’s claim he is a descendant of Sultan Shakir ul lah is a lie because the true descendants are the Royal Kiram Sultans – not a Bahjin.

After Pulalun, Stan C. Brandenburg again with his money proclaimed and installed Bahjin twice, the last proclamation was on July 2006, in Zamboanga City , Philippines . Brandenburg asked authority from Bahjin to withdraw the assets of the late Sultan of Sulu in U.S. banks, i.e. Wells Fargo Bank USA amounting to US$47.5 billion, plus another US bank, but Brandenburg disappeared. Story persisted that thereafter Brandenburg also withdrew his support to Bahjin, similar to what he did to Pulalun in the past.

Bahjin claiming he is paramount sultan is another lie, fantasy and a pigment of his fertile imagination, as never in the history of the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah that he can point out that any Sultan was ever called paramount sultan in its more than 600 years of history. It is just a fabrication and without foundation designed to impress the foreign banks. When asked why Bahjin proclaimed himself? His answer was "silence, there is money to be made here."

10. ALIUDDIN HADDIS PABILA/ ADINDA FAMILY -- Descent unknown. Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). The claim of this man and family that they are descendants of a certain sultan is far fetch and a fantasy as the story and line of the so called sultan they claimed to be their ancestor are questionable and long extinct/ dead.

Pabila claims that his family is the royal family of Sulu is another fantasy and fairy tale as there are more than 600 Royal Datus/ Princes in Sulu and Sabah, which means there are more than 600 royal families in the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah . Furthermore, Pabila claimed he wanted to help the people of Sulu but this is proven to be false, as he really wanted to recover the assets of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah in foreign banks for himself, when he contacted a foreign recovery team but he failed, as the recovery team did not believe his claims and his genealogy/ family tree.

Pabila and his agent Lajamura made noise about the "tartib" and "protocol system." Tartib means Line of Succession of Sultans of Sulu and Sabah, and yes there is a tartib in place. As from 1823 the tartib showed HM Sultan Jamalul Kiram I was the Reigning Sultan, succeeded by various Kiram Sultans -- then to HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947 to 1973), and upon his death his son HM Sultan Mahakuttah Abdulla Kiram (Sultan 1974 to 1986) was the Reigning Sultan, and finally in 2006 another Kiram Sultan -- HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram I ascended as the 35th Reigning Sultan.

From 1823 to this, nearly 2 centuries of the "tartib" there was no mention of any Pabila or Adinda family being the Sultan of Sulu. Their claims are a distortion of history, a big lie and a fraud.

Regarding the so called "protocol system" in the Sultanate of Sulu, this so called system did not give the Pabila Adinda family the right to be Sultan. Why? Because protocol means the correct form or address and title accorded to royalty, nobility, knighthood, military, church, or diplomatic service. Pabila and his Adinda family including Lajamura do not even know the meaning of protocol and they try to present their distorted and warped reasoning to mislead the public.

Contrary to what Pabila and the Adinda family said, HM Sultan Jamalul Kiram II never gave up his crown and authority as Sultan, during the forced occupation of the Americans in 1899, even with the advent of the 1899 Bates Treaty and the 1915 Carpenter Memorandum. Proof: After the death of HM Jamalul Kiram II in 1936, the Sultan was succeeded by his brother -- HM Sultan Mawallil Wasit Kiram but also died in 1936 (the grandfather of the current Sultan, HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad I). As a result Sultan Mawallil Wasit Kiram’s first-born son HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I, became the Reigning Sultan as from 1947 to 1973.

From 1823 till today and, nor any in future, the Adinda family was not given any right to rule as Sultan of Sulu, and any assertion by them is a pigment of their imagination, because the Kiram Royal Line of Succession (the true successors as Sultan of Sulu and Sabah) are solely and exclusively, the sons or grandsons of HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I, as per Law of Succession.

Pabila and his Adinda family live overseas, so suspicions persist that Pabila and his family are only interested in the assets of the late Sultan of Sulu and to destabilize the Sultanate of Sulu regarding its aim to recover Sabah .

In reality, since Sabah or North Borneo is owned by the nine Kiram heirs of HM Sultan Jamalul Kiram II as landowners, (including HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram I), no one, even the Adinda family has any right to discuss any matter concerning the Sabah resolution -- except the landowners.

Pabila and Adinda family's declaration of war against the Philippines (since they do not live in Sulu), is a calculated move to export the battlefield into Sulu, to further destabilize, sow confusion, and destroy all prospects for peace and developments in the Sultanate of Sulu. Who will benefit out of this war declaration of Pabila and Adinda family? Well, your guess is as good as ours.

But Pabila and his family will not succeed. No right-minded Tausug will join this war to install a false sultan like Aliuddin Haddis Pabila of Adinda family.

HM Sultan Muhammad Fuad Abdulla Kiram I, the true and legitimate Sultan of Sulu and Sabah, together with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the good people of the Sultanate of Sulu, abhor and reject this war declaration of Haddis Pabila, and we call on all freedom loving people to repel and stop this idiocy and evil scheme.

11. AYDAL ALIUDDIN -- Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). Arrested and imprisoned in Brunei for impersonating the rank and title of Sultan of Sulu.

12. MUHD. YAHCUB ALIMUDDIN V -- Descent unknown. Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). The claim of this man that he is a descendant of a certain sultan is also far fetch and another fantasy as the blood line of the said sultan he claimed to be his ancestor is long extinct/ dead. He is an Indonesian.

13. HAJI MUHD. AL SAGOV VAN ELDIK (A DUTCHMAN) -- Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Adopted son of the father of Kudar and Rodinood Julaspi.

14. SENIOR POLICE OFFICER 2/ SERGEANT AKIJAL ATTIH -- Descent unknown. Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973).

15. DEMETRIA OMAR KIRAM -- (FABRICATING HIMSELF A KIRAM). Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Not a descendant or male heir of Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I (Sultan 1947-1973). A Zamboanga City hotel in the Philippines is looking for him for failing to pay his hotel bills up to now. He is not from Sulu.

16. DATU MUEDZUL-LAIL T. KIRAM -- A member of the Royal blood line but not acceptable and not proclaimed as Reigning Sultan by the Royal Datus and the Sharifs of the Sultanate of Sulu and Sabah . He is also not acceptable to the major groups of Sulu. As per his own admission Datu Muedzul-Lail accepted from Stan C. Brandenburg monthly payment of P50,000 and a Starex van, plus an additional P10 million for himself and P2 million for his mother-in-law and P3 million for his stepmother, in exchange for Brandenburg becoming Sulu Prime Minister of Datu Muedzul-Lail, but Brandenburg did not give him a cent and did not fulfill his promise to pay and instead proclaimed Bahjin twice. As a result many Sultanate leaders commented "Datu Muedzul-Lail sold his line to the Royal succession so cheaply which made him incapable and unsuitable to be Sultan of Sulu." Due to this unfit and improper conduct of Datu Muedzul-Lail, he eliminated himself to the rank and title of Sultan.

17. JUAN T. DELA CRUZ (FABRICATING HIMSELF AS AMIR KIRAM) -- Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. Many people are looking for him due to loss of money they gave him as he promised to recover the assets of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah in foreign banks but he disappeared. He is not from Sulu.

18. ALAWI MOHAMMAD KARIM alias ALFONSO SAGUN BAUTISTA alias ALAWI JULKARNAIN AZAM KIRAM (FABRICATING HIMSELF A KIRAM) -- Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. This man is trying to claim the assets of the late Sultan of Sulu and Sabah and now called himself a Kiram.

19. ABDULLAH AZAM ATALAD -- Commoner & Outsider. Not a member of the Royal blood line of succession. This man tried to represent himself as the Sultan of Sulu in the U.S. Congress but no one believed him and took him seriously. He lives in Mindoro . He is not from Sulu.
